The Child and Adolescent Rehabilitation in Värmland is a regional service with clinics in Karlstad, Arvika, Torsby, and Kristinehamn.

Here you will find an interesting and varied job where you work both independently and in collaboration with colleagues. The unit also has three administrative staff. You will have access to professional support and supervision. A strength of our workplace is that we have several speech therapists with different experiences. There is always someone to consult, and we are keen to support each other in our work.

With us, there are good opportunities to broaden your competence. At the child and adolescent rehabilitation, we work with interdisciplinary and specialized assessment and treatment interventions. This is aimed at children and adolescents with long-term cognitive and/or neuropsychiatric as well as motor disabilities, which significantly affect development and daily functioning.

We are many different professions working together in teams with rehabilitation throughout the region. We include social workers, psychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, special educators, and doctors.

The temporary position is valid until 26-06-30 with a possible extension.

Your Responsibilities

We work with children and adolescents who need rehabilitation. There is much new evidence in the field of rehabilitation, and we are proud to keep up well with that development. Discussions about common professional and rehabilitation-relevant issues are ongoing within and across professional boundaries. The speech therapist is an important competence in the team around the patient, and you will work with assessment, direct or indirect treatment of communication, speech and language disorders, as well as eating and swallowing issues.

Your Skills and Competencies

We are looking for a licensed speech therapist who is confident in your professional role and interested in development work based on your profession. Knowledge of alternative communication methods and clear pedagogical approaches is considered an asset. Collaboration is essential for us, both within and outside the organization, which makes your ability to collaborate important. You should also see opportunities in changes and be adaptable to changing circumstances.

Travel may be required in the position, which means a B driver's license is required. In such cases, a leasing car will be available.
